BMW Championship returns to St. Louis for first time in nearly two decades
ST. LOUIS — The 2026 BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club is less than one year away, and anticipation among golf fans across the Midwest is already building. Tournament organizers at the Western Golf Association have seen strong early interest, with volunteer and ticket opportunities coming soon.
Bellerive Country Club, one of golf’s most storied venues, will host the event on Aug. 17-23. The WGA expects to fill more than 2,000 volunteer positions quickly and anticipates strong demand for tickets as the event returns to St. Louis for the first time since 2008.
“Bellerive has a proud history of hosting golf’s biggest events, and the passion for the game in this community is undeniable,” said Vince Pellegrino, WGA Senior Vice President of Tournaments. “With the energy we’ve seen so far from fans and businesses across St. Louis, we expect this to be a special week that showcases world-class golf and makes a significant contribution to our charitable beneficiary, the Evans Scholars Foundation.”
Fans interested in ticket options and volunteer opportunities are encouraged to fill out the Priority Interest Form. Those who do will be the first to know when tickets go on sale and volunteer registration becomes available.
The WGA will open volunteer opportunities to those on the priority interest list on Oct. 29. Patrons who sign up for ticket updates will be eligible to purchase 2026 tickets through an exclusive pre-sale event before they become available to the public on Nov. 20.
The 2026 BMW Championship will be a milestone event for the city of St. Louis and the region alike. In addition to being the BMW Championship’s first visit in nearly 20 years, the event will mark the first time many of the PGA TOUR’s best have stopped in St. Louis since the 100th PGA Championship in 2018. Bellerive is also scheduled to host the 2030 Presidents Cup.
Proceeds from the BMW Championship annually benefit the nationally acclaimed Evans Scholars Foundation, which awards full tuition and housing college scholarships to deserving youth caddies. Since 2007, the event has raised more than $60 million for caddie scholarships, helping send more than 4,000 young men and women to college.
The BMW Championship field will include the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings as they compete for the J.K. Wadley Trophy and a spot in the season-ending TOUR Championship. Past champions include Scottie Scheffler, Keegan Bradley, Viktor Hovland, Justin Thomas, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tiger Woods.
